The draft Regional Development Cross-cutting Strategy and Action Plan are intended to generate discussion. The Ministry of Economy is leading preparation, and a full consultation process is underway. The Strategy will be used by line ministries when preparing their sectoral strategies by region, and by local authorities when preparing their regional development strategies.
Albania has been declared as official mine-free, following the hand over of the last mine-affected areas of land to the people of Borja Village, who reside on Albania's northern frontier with Kosovo in the Region of Kukes.
