2009 UNDP Human Development Report: Albania in the context of international migration - benefits and barriers

UNDP and IOM co-launch today UNDP’s Human Development Report 2009 with the participation of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities. The report highlights the benefits of and barriers to migration at the global level, and ranks Albania at 70th place among 182 countries in the Human Development Index (HDI), the summary indicator of people’s well-being, education and GDP per capita.

Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Water Administration and the United Nations Development Programme today released two national reports: The Second National Communication of Albania to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and Albanian Policy Paper for Carbon Finance. The reports represent the culmination of the work of a team of experts over a three-year period.
